As far as I know, easy challenges have no rewards. So if you want a rewards you should try to step climb up a limestone tower to the top of Krabi and reach The Tiger Caves (Wat Tham Suea). This temple is the main tourist attraction which is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the province of Krabi. It is well known for the tall Buddha statues and the stenuous flight of stairs to reach the top of hills.

It’s very challenging to climb 1237 step to reach the summit, but when we reach up all the tiredness is worth the view. You will rewarded with stunning 360 degress views of the surrounding countryside, limestone tower around Krabi Province and the Andaman Sea. The view from the top is stunning, and the sanctuary is very special with some nice Buddha statues and one tall Buddha statues sitting in lotus position.

Wat Tham Sua or the Tiger Cave temple is about 20 mins away from the main Krabi town area, it can be accessed by cab, open trip tour, or you can rent a car. But for us we rent a motor cycle to got cheaper price. When we arrived at the temple grounds, we visited the main shrine which is well known for the tiger paw prints in the cave and footprint of Buddha.

As I mention earlier, before we got rewards we need to do an effort to climbing to the top. There are 1,237 steps leading to the summit of limestone tower. Even I have a quite good experience in hiking or trekking I can say this one is not easy to climb the flight of stairs, but trust me when you climb higher and higher you can really enjoy all kinds of different views and limestones surrounding Krabi Town. The view was breathtaking with each step we took and definitely it was a good work out.

Along the steps marked with numbers so that you can keep track of your progress are mostly handmade and quite steep. As you get closer to the summit you will encounter the wild monkeys along the steps. The monkeys are sometimes cute but can be quite aggressive so please be careful and watch your back for monkey thieves. To prevent being robbed by monkey thieves, keep a safe distance, and be careful with your belongings especially your drinks and food!. If you follow those rules you will pass by them without issue.

Wonderful view along the way to the top hills of Tiger Caves, Krabi Thailand
Because during climbing the flight of stairs you will be starving, so don't forget to take something to drink or eat. And remember we could show some respect to this holy place by keep clean this temple and not throw the rubbish around the temple.
