This is the fourth time I went to Batu Caves in Malaysia. The only reason I coming back to Batu Caves its because there’s a panda invasion in this temple. Nope, this is not the real panda but this one is 1600 Pandas crafted using recycled paper mache in various pose, size and emotion as a WWF program 1600 Pandas World Tour In Malaysia to promote the message of panda conservation and sustainable development.
This program is started in 2008 as a collaboration between WWF and Paulo Grangeon which is known as acclaimed artist from France. They created 1600 Panda to represent the alarming number of pandas left in the wild. With the theme of Initiating the Culture of Creative Conservation this program has an aim to bring awareness to all peoples on the importance of natural conservation and sustainable development that need to conserve it. And lucky I have a chance to saw this 1600 Panda in Batu Caves, Malaysia.

Batu Caves is one of the landmarks in Malaysia which is worth a visit for the tourists who visit to Kuala Lumpur. In this place there is the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, located in the hills of limestone Batu Caves Gombak district, 13 kilometers to the north of the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Inspired by the shape of the cave entrance vel dedicated as a place of worship the God Murugan in the cave.

The most iconic of this place certainly a golden statue of Lord Muragan world's tallest high as 42.7 meters and right behind the 272 stairs are steep enough to get to the mouth of the cave on the hill of limestone that serves as a shrine. And this is where the the focal point of Hindus festival of Thaipusam. The presence or absence of the 1600 Pandas or Festival of Thaipusam, Batu Caves is still worth a visit and should not miss on your next visit to Malaysia.

 How to get here? If you take public transporation you can take KTM Komuter train service from Pelabuhan Klang – KL Sentral – Batu Caves. Other alternative is you can take the monorail services to Titiwangsa station, aligh there take the bus to Batu Caves. Or if you drive a car ot take taxi is accesibble thru the main highway of MRR2 in Batu Caves Area.
